Life Drawing Cancellation and Date Change

Hey guy's hope you're having a good Labor day, just wanted to let you know that life drawing will be cancelled this Thursday, September 8th, as everyone will probably be busy getting ready for the school year. Life drawing will continue on Monday, September 12th, and remain that way for at least the first semester. The hour and location won't change though, Monday's will be in Arbutus 301 at 6pm. We will be pursuing a second day every week for life drawing, but need to clear it with the IDEA Program Co-ordinator. Check back for more Life Drawing updates in the future!

Summer Life Drawing Schedule Change

Hey guys! Due to everyone's busy summer schedule, we've decided to host life drawing on Thursdays only, with our twice-a-week schedule picking up again once the school year begins. I hope you can all make it for tomorrow's session, 6pm to 9pm in Arbutus room 301. We will be sure to let you know once we return to our bi-weekly format, and keep checking the blog for further info. Hey everyone!

I am really sorry that I am posting this super last minute (prep for gradshow has taken up much of my time) but because it is no longer economical to continue holding sessions (students will no longer be going due to end of classes) we will be suspending life drawing until later in the summer.

Basically, drop in sessions for life drawing have now ENDED. Friday April 15th and Monday April 18th sessions have been CANCELLED.

However, the blog will be updated later on with info concerning the new life drawing drop in dates and times this summer.

Burlesque Life Drawing!

sorry about the short notice but unfortunately today's session, as well as Wednesday Dec 15th's session, have been cancelled.

Sessions will start up again in the beginning of January. So far we have booked Arbutus 301 for Mondays from 6-9pm and Fridays from 6-9pm. I will post the specific date for when we start up again once the scheduling has been more securely decided on.

Changes to schedule

Most of you probably know this already but the Life Drawing drop-in schedule has changed a bit.

Mondays are still the same, however, Thursday mornings are now Wednesday evenings from 6-9. The rooms for both days are still Arbutus 301.

In summary, the schedule is now:
-Mondays 6-9pm (Arbutus 301)
-Wednesdays 6-9pm (Arbutus 301)

Hey all,

There will be no life drawing on the 6th of September. Labour Day.

During the Fall term, life drawing will be in Arbutus 301. (Where we've been all summer.)

Monday nights from 6pm to 9pm.
Starting on the 9th of September we have the room thursdays from 9am to 12pm until November 11th. After the 11th we will have the room on Wednesday nights from 6pm to 9pm.

Spring Term schedule

Life Drawing club starts up again on Monday Jan 11.

We've got Monday evenings again from 5:30 - 8:30 in Arbutus 301, and Wednesday mornings 9am - noon, also in Arbutus. Please note that the January 25th session will be pushed a half hour later, so 6pm - 9pm that night only. Our last session before the olympics will be Feb 10 and then we'll pick up again on March 1. We're also going to try an organize a burlesque night or two, so stay tuned for updates!

On the week of December 1, drop-in life drawing will be on Monday morning, 9 to 12, and Monday evening, 5:30 to 8:30. The morning will be held in Studio Art and the evening will be in Arbutus as usual. This is due to Moh's second year life drawing class being canceled and being switched to Wednesday morning when the drop-in usually occurs. First years are still welcome to go to the Wednesday morning drop-in session, but please be aware that our class will be in session.

So to repeat, both drop-ins will be on Monday and second year class will be Wednesday morning, although first years can come too.

I ordered 30 donkeys which should improve the situation in Arbutus. IDEA program wants the drafting tables out and the donkeys will allow more people to get in closer. The easles will still be there for people who want a higher p.o.v. of the models. I haven't been in yet for awhile, but they are supposed to be assembled soon.

Summer Drop In Life Drawing is starting up on MAY 26.

Sessions take place on the third floor of the Arbutus building in room 301.
Five dollars a session is the cost (unless you buy tickets), and we start at 6:30 pm. (going till about 9:30)

Whether you're a new student to the program, a 2nd year needing to brush up, or anyone interested in sharpening their drawing, these sessions are for our benefit!
